I’m really excited to share a Stitch Fix review with you today! While it’s not my first fix, it is my first time to do a review. If you’re not familiar with Stitch Fix, I will go into all the details of how it works and then share photos of what I got in my fix. I read about 30 reviews before I took the plunge and did my first fix, so I hope that this will be helpful if you’ve been considering it!
Stitch Fix is a really great option for pants and jeans, so I turned to them to update my fall wardrobe. Somehow, they seem to magically send perfectly fitting pairs of jeans. Jeans seem to be a universally difficult piece of clothing to find a good fit, so how they manage it is beyond me. If you’re looking to update the lower half of your wardrobe, I would highly recommend Stitch Fix.
Stitch Fix is also really good at sending unique pieces. Fashion is much more fun when it’s unique to you, but those kinds of pieces aren’t always easy to hunt down on your own. Rather than trying to keep small children contained and happy in dressing rooms, you can try on clothing in the comfort of your own home. It’s so easy to see how the pieces they send will work with what you already have, and if you’re lucky, there are no screaming children while you’re doing it.
How Stitch Fix Works
So, in case you aren’t familiar with Stitch Fix, I’ll outline how it works. If you are, just scroll down to the photos to see what was in my fix!
- Fill out a style profile – answer questions on sizing, pricing, preferences, colors, etc. Include notes about likes/dislikes. Link to your fashion board on Pinterest so your stylist can see what you like.
- Order your first fix – your card will be charged a $20 styling fee. If you keep anything you will be credited back the $20. You will receive 5 items. Clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories and handbags, whatever you prefer. I have mine set to no earrings or bags, so you can personalize what types of items they send you.
- Decide what to keep – you have 3 business days to do so – use this time to try everything on and see what you have in your closet that pairs well with your items. Check out online and send back whatever you’re not keeping in a postage paid envelope. If you keep all 5 items you will receive 25% off your entire fix.
Stitch Fix Review November 2016
- Link to your Pinterest fashion board, or make one if you don’t have one already. Stitch Fix is pretty magical, but they can’t guess your style out of thin air. If it’s been a while since you looked at your board, go through the pins and make sure that it still reflects styles that feel like YOU.
- Try to stay away from the word “no” when filling out your profile and writing notes to your stylist. The stylists do read your feedback, but a computer does a lot of the work for them to help stay on top of all their clients. For example, don’t say “no black”, say “I like a lot of color”.
- Be open and understanding. Go ahead and ask your stylist for specific items that you want to try. You can even request the items that I shared in this post. But realize that you might not always get exactly what you asked for. Try things you wouldn’t pick for yourself, you just might like them.
- Check your expectations. If you don’t go into a dressing room and expect to purchase everything you try on, you probably shouldn’t expect that of a fix either. I’ve had fixes where I bought everything and fixes where I bought only one item. Both were a win because I found a piece I loved.

It’s great that you have the ability to do errands on time and return items. I am such a procrastinator. I really like the suede leggings the best. So classy looking.
HappyMeetsHome says
Thanks Leanna! Yes, you do have to return by the deadline if you’re not keeping everything.

Shandy, what a great model you are! I love all of the outfits on you, your stylist did a great job choosing things that fit your style. I really love the pants that you ended up keeping. And the tops are really nice also. I have heard of Stitch fix before, but I really like the choices they made for you. I would love to try them in the future, and I will definitely come back and chat with you before I do. Can’t wait to see more of these posts.
